Black Bowl with White Rim
Potter: Lap, Geert
Limoges hard-paste porcelain, thrown, with black zinc-talcum glaze which is mat but has a slight sheen. The bowl is formed as a low cylinder with waisted sides which flare outwards into a wide almost flat rim. The interior is glazed apart from about a centimeter round the edge of the rim; the exterior is glazed apart from a similar area at the top and bottom; the base is unglazed.
