Description

Awarded in 1807 to Robert Monsey Rolfe (1790-1868), subsequently a Fellow of Downing College, Cambridge, who became Lord Cranworth, Lord Chancellor (1852-8, 1865-6). This Winchester College medal is recorded in BHM as only known in gold and bronze, and as having been initiated in 1816, which this specimen shows to be wrong.
