Description

Complex technique of 'piecing' or 'patchwork', sometimes called 'inlaid' work. Wool, red, blue, cream and green; cut and inlaid to form a dense, repeat 'tile' pattern within rectangular borders. Chain stitch embroidery of stylised flowers and foliage in faded yellows, cream, purple and lilac. Borders defined by laid and couched cord.
