Fine linen, with a 1.75" border of finer linen; lined and interlined. Worked with coloured silks in back, chain, French knots, satin and stem stitches. The border, formed by a repeating freely designed floral spray, added with the lining, probably at a later date. Four rows of motifs, flowering plants alternating with mixed sprays of flowers. Background quilted in a vermicular design.
