Description

Painted canvas; black ground with stencilled or block printed stylised leaf and flower decoration in white, red and green. Partial head and shoulders of a figure with a crown of thorns and halo, probably a depiction of Christ.
Found inside the lining of a chasuble (see T.9-1986) and used to stiffen the garment.
