Description

Cotton or linen, embroidered with polychrome silk and silver plate in double darning, double running and satin stitches. At each end a 7" deep border of embroidery composed of three horizontal bands; two of which have small floral sprays linked by meandering strapwork of silver plate; the third has strapwork linked by small blue flowers dividing the ground into shaped compartments containing sprays of flowers. An edging of bobbin lace. Only the borders of the kerchief remain and are joined together by a strip of similar material.
