Cotton or linen, embroidered polychrome silk, gilt thread and plate in double darning, double running, overcast, pulled fabric, overcast, and satin stitches. A 3" deep border at each end; at the edge a 0.25" deep band of satin stitch in gilt thread, above it a waved stem with leaflets arranged pinnately, within each curve a spray of scrolling stems and tendrils with a single rose and bud.
