Cotton, woven in a supplementary wefts pattern, embroidered with polychrome silk, gilt and silver thread in double darning, double running, fishbone, pulled fabric, satin and stem stitches. At each end a 0.5" deep band in satin stitch. Above it four horizontal repeats of a shallow bowl with a foot, and in it a melon with a knife cutting it to disclose seeds, and a flower and leaf at the top of the melon. Fringe ravelled.
