Description

Cotton, embroidered with polychrome silk and gold thread, in double darning, double running, satin and stem stitches, worked on fine muslin and seamed to a much coarser one. At each end a 1" deep band and six repeats of landscape motifs comprising a river, boats, bridge, mosque and cypress trees. Above it a 5" deep band, formed by one repeat and part of a second of a garden scene, comprising a pool, various trees and flowers on hillocky ground. Narrow bobbin lace edging.
