Buff earthenware, press-moulded, tin-glazed bluish-white, and painted in blue. The plate is circular with a narrow sloping rim, shallow curved sides and flat base (Archer's shape H). The middle is decorated with a stylized squirrel feeding on the ground. It has large ears like a rabbit and a bushy tail. To the left of it there are two groups of schematic birds, and below it five short diagonal lines crossed diagonally by five more. On the rim there are groups of four spots alternating with stylized plants extending inwards from the outer edge. There are three spur marks on the convex reverse.
