Description

A chromolithograph of a boy and girl riding ponies along a seashore with a lace-paper border featuring embossed chromolithographic cut-outs of two hearts pierced by an arrow at upper centre and a wreath of roses bearing the motto: "Love's Offering" at lower centre. The card opens to reveal an inscription written by hand onto the verso of the lithograph: "Mamma / 1868". The inscription appears to be written in the same hand as those found in P.14342-R-26 and P.14342-R-27 and which would seem to identify these cards as a group that were sent from a mother to her child in the 1860s.
