Valentine card
Quarto valentine with embossed lace border and internal lithographed border printed in gold ink of a leaf and flower garland with a pair of doves at upper centre and Cupid's quiver and arrows at lower centre. A further embossed 'lace' oval border at the centre. A hand-coloured lithograph of a soldier in a landscape, cut into an oval and affixed at the centre, a hand-drawn scalloped border of green ink around it. A handwritten motto in pen and blue ink is written across the embossed paper above and below the central image: 'Give me thy heart and in exchange / I offer one time ne'er shall change". The interior of the card is blank.
