Description

A small valentine with a front of embossed and gilded paper with a hand-coloured scene of two winged putti pulling curtains aside to left and right and a pair of doves at upper centre. An oval aperture at the centre containing a verse titled 'FRIENDSHIP' printed on a silk panel: 'Ah why should words in anger spoken, / Crush friendship formed by years; / Must hopes of future sun be broken, / Because one cloud appears? ...'. The interior is blank.
