Valentine card
Folding card of four flaps decorated with hand-coloured lithographs of flowers which open to reveal a panel of silvered, embossed paper with man and maid to right and left. Lower aperture with net blind over which is mounted an embossed paper ornament of blue and gold of a man proposing to a woman. A small collage of chromo scrap and cut-paper foliage below. An aperture at upper centre containing a silk panel printed in black ink with verse: 'Nothing so near, / The joys above, / As the first sighs, / Of whispering / LOVE'.
