Description

Embossed, lace-paper of a gothic design, with ivy as tracery, statue of a knight in a niche at the left and Cupids with a shield emblazoned with an arrow-pierced heart. Collage of gauze pink and yellow clouds with cut-paper, hand-coloured garland of flowers - a decorative letter 'O' - around a pair of hand-painted doves and hand-painted 'F' to form the word 'Of' at the beginning of the handwritten verse: '[Of] all the flowers / the Spring has met / And it has met with many / Thou art to me the fairest yet / And loveliest of any'. Collage of cut-paper, hand-coloured flowers at lower centre with silver paper ornament of two cupids carrying an envelope/valentine. The interior of the card is blank. Blind-stamp at the base of the fluted plinth at lower left: 'DOBBS KIDD & CO'.
