Description

Loose within album P.14347-R. A hand-coloured lithograph on one sheet of thin, white wove paper. A decorative outer border with urns, birds holding swags and Cupids (a marriage scene at upper centre) and inner border of scrolling lines surrounding a central scene of a couple holding hands beside a stone balustrade with river and hills beyond. A printed verse below: "Bright be the beams that hover o'er thy couch, / The love-lit scenes that fancy forms for thee; ...". A printed number "6" at lower centre suggests that P.14347-R-L15 may be one of a series.
