A càntir is a vessel for pouring water. The word derives from the Spanish cántaro, a ceramic jug. This form is one of several typical of Catalonian glass production. There are comparable examples in the Wallace Collection (see Documentation) the Metropolitan Museum of Art (inv. 83.7.112)
