Description

Clear lead-glass, blown, with applied raspberry prunts and pincered strips. Fish-shaped with a narrow base and a cylindrical neck. On both sides there are three 'raspberry prunts' and down the side edges an applied pincered strip.

History note: Howard Phillips, London, by whom given to Sir Ivor Batchelor in March, 1982; Sir Ivor and Lady Batchlor, St Andrew's Fife; Sir Ivor died on 24 April 2005; on loan since 2006 (Syndicate of 30 January)

This flask was accessioned as late 17th or early 18th century, but the strictly circular form of the prunts probably indicates that it is much later in date.
