Unidentified English glasshouse (Glasshouse)


Lead-glass, blown-moulded, and nipt-diamond-waies. Circular with deep curved sides, and a pontil mark in the middle of the base. The whole surface is decorated with horizontal diamond shapes.


History note: Howard Phillips, London, from whom purchased, September, 1983; Sir Ivor and Lady Batchlor, St Andrew's Fife; Sir Ivor died on 24 April 2005; on loan since 2006 (Syndicate of 30 January)
