Description

Pale green lead-glass, blown. The jug stands on a circular foot with a pontil mark in the middle. It has a bulbous body, an incurved neck, opening into a wide mouth with projecting lip. The loop handle has a pincered kick at the lower end.

History note: Howard Phillips, London, from whom purchased, December, 1986; Sir Ivor and Lady Batchlor, St Andrew's Fife; Sir Ivor died on 24 April 2005; on loan since 2006 (Syndicate of 30 January)
