Description
Clear greyish glass, with applied pincered trails, handle, spouts, and bird. The càntir stands on a domed foot moulded with shallow radiating ribbing. The rounded conical body and a bulb at its base are moulded with wrythen fluting. On one side of the shoulder there is a wide sloping spout with an applied trail round its mouth with points at either end and a pincered projection below. On the the opposite side it has a tall slender upright spout with a pincered projection below. On each side of the shoulder there is an applied trail, pincered into spikes. A ring handle with a shallow bird finial on its top, rises from a blob of glass in the centre.

This is the smallest of the four càntires in the Fitzwilliam's collection. The others are C. 205-2015, C.206-2015 and C.224-2015, all of which have applied blue glass decoration.
