Alarm verge watch in a silver pair case.
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Francois Gerbel'. Balance cock with symmetrically pierced and engraved winged table, foot pierced and engraved. Brass balance. Slide plate, both sides of the balance cock, pierced and engraved, silver regulation dial with radial Arabic numbers 10-40.
Pierced fusee iron post. Case bolt in brass edge, nib through dial. Alarm barrel engraved. Potance riveted to plate. Counter-potance with decorated foot, riveted to plate. Alarm potance formed and riveted to plate. Alarm counter-potance with decorated foot screwed to plate.
Pillar plate with five pillars, four turned baluster with chased swell, one rectangular, third wheel recessed, alarm second and third wheel, triangular, bridge (three fixing screws), stop work for alarm with one tooth and two cuts in brass wheel.
Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise. Three pinion alarm train, steel contrate and escape wheels. Hammer under time barrel. Alarm train planted anti-clockwise.

HANDS: Blued steel, wavy minute, pierced hour with plain alarm pointer.

DIAL: Silver with central silver alarm disc. Outer radial Arabic 5 min. figures on polished cushions, ladder minute ring, double arrows at quarters and arrows at 5 mins. Radial Roman chapters, narrow diamond shapes at half hours, ladder half-hour ring, arrows at half-hours, central cut-out for alarm disc. Alarm set square recess at IV o'clock.

ALARM DISC: Silver, secured by two screws. Radial Arabic hours on polished cushions. Ladder half-hour ring, arrow at half hours, flame shape in centre.

BRASS EDGE: With joint, narrow engraved border to dial recess. Edge engraved with vertical lines.

BELL: Two winding holes, straight sides.

INNER CASE (A): Silver, sides pierced and engraved. The back is plan with a central ring. 'M' is engraved above the time winding hole, and 'R' above the alarm winding hole. On in the inside is a scratched 'B' above '9'. Plain bezel. Cylindrical pendant with cheese-shaped top, deep stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE: Silver repousse. Body side with four pierced and engraved panels between panels with repousse busts, and a repousse scene on the back of Europa on a bull. Bezel with four pierced and engraved panels between panels with a repousse verse.
