Description

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Delinotte A Orlean'. Balance bridge with pierced and chased table of three repeated designs. Brass balance. Steel regulating slide and rack, small silver regulating dial, engraved 1 to 4, blued steel cock over dial. Tangent set-up with silver dial, engraved 1 to 6, over worm wheel. Steel worm with filigree blued steel brackets, one part missing. Blued steel worm guard/pointer. Rectangular escape. hole with line engraved round and corner decorations. Small fusee iron post shaped as a tulip. Case bolt/spring, with decorated foot, on brass edge. Alarm barrel with pierced and engraved panel. Rectangular potance riveted to plate. Counter-potance with shaped foot screwed to plate. Pillar plate with four baluster pillars. Second and third and alarm second wheel bar. Split fusee and chain (fusee cut for gut), barrel with two lips. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise. Alarm train all iron with three pinions. Alarm train planted anti-clockwise

BRASS EDGE: With three turned ringed pillars, alarm wheel sink, hole to clear pinion of report. Case bolt, nub through plate. Underside scratched 'H. F. S. over '3.OS'.

DIAL: Silver, radial Roman chapters, half hour lozenges, ladder quarter hour ring with arrows at half hour, four arrows at hours.

ALARM DIAL: Silver, radial Roman hours, dot half-hour, centre engraved with flowers.

HANDS: Plain poker, shortened to read on alarm dial. Single hour hand.

BELL: Outside marked, cast in'44'. Covers the winding squares, so the movement has to be swung out to be wound.

CASE: Silver, body pierced and engraved with small animals in scrolled stems and flowers, acanthus leaf border. Hinge on separate ring secured by pin at the hinge and screwed through the body at 6 o'clock. Plain bezel, split, acanthus leaves engraved on hinge, rest plain. Pendant with spherical top with plain ring. Pendant top stamped with Discharge? mark for Paris 1762-68?
