Small verge watch in silver case
MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'Ro Grinkin in Fleet Street fecit.' Balance cock, table and foot pierced and engraved with free form edge, neck on square post, cock fixed with screw. Steel balance, with four brass weights riveted beneath. Potance and counter-potance rivets engraved as flowers with stalks. Top plate engraved, as above, in curved lines below cock. Replacement brass worm wheel. Blued steel worm, with one post and one cock with screw fixing. Rectangular fusee iron post, brass fusee iron, blued steel fusee iron spring having decorated end with pin in plate. Potance and counter-potance rectangular, with engraved side, riveted to top plate. Case bolt under dial plate with nib through dial plate. Pillar plate with four pillars, one turned silver baluster and three narrow Egyptian ones. Split gut fusee, barrel with two lips. Tangent set up on top plate. Verge escapement. Train, three pinions, planted anti-clockwise.
DIAL PLATE: Silver with four tabs to fit case, engraved with floral design outside chapter ring, squat radial Roman chapters, ladder quarter ring with extended half-hour lines, centre with flowers in a vase. Back of the dial plate recessed for hour wheel and case bolt spring, slot for nib.
HAND: Blued steel with pointer out of flower, plain pointed tail.
CASE: Silver, rounded body and bezel chased with thirty-six plain radial ribs with flower heads between. Plain silver disc over winding hole. Bezel with glass held in engraved silver band, fixed by tabs bent on inside. Ball pendant with plain ring bow.
