Description

Verge watch in triple case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved in Arabic. Balance cock with solid and plain circular table with rudimentary pointed ears, cock foot solid and plain extending to the edge of the plate. Plain solid side plate, small silver regulation disc with Turkish figures, otherwise plain. Plain fusee iron post. Polished steel case bolt with plain side ears, in slot in plate, nib at side. Potance with plain foot with moulding at end, one side shaped, screwed to plate. Counter-potance riveted to plate. Pillar plate with four square section baluster pillars, third wheel bridge. Fusee and chain, set-up click under dial, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise.

BRASS EDGE: Plain brass, hinge block brazed in position.

DIAL: White enamel on copper, with blue markings, ladder minute ring, dots at 5 minutes. Radial Turkish figures, Arabic character under 12 and above 6 o'clock, otherwise plain.

HANDS: Louis VI style brass minute, blued steel beetle hour.

INNER CASE: Plain gilt brass, cylindrical pendant with step, cheese top with rings, stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE (A): Plain gilt brass, having a very deep bezel, with faceted decoration around break on body and bezel, and also on bezel opening.

PROTECTIVE CASE (B): Brass, open faced, covered with tortoiseshell having pins with decorative heads around edges.
