Description

Wood-fired stoneware jar, with an everted rim bearing two lugs. Decorated with vertical indentations on opposite sides. Unglazed apart from some natural ash and carbon trapping. Buff, tan, and black.

History note: Bought by Shakeshaft from Bonhams auction no. 13760, Lot 71. 19th September 2006 Formerly in Lucy Rie's collection.
