Description

Wood-fired jug of traditional pitcher form. Decorated with four ridged rings and 13 small clay 'buttons' on the neck. Shino glaze inside and on the rim, placed ash near the handle, but otherwise dark tan 'flash'.

History note: Bought by Shakeshaft from the Goldmark Gallery (Uppingham) on the occasion of Phil Roger's second show there. No. 549. 12th October 2008
