Description

Wood-fired footed stoneware chawan (tea bowl), E-Shino style. Thick white feldspathic glaze with underglaze brushed slip, showing through as an abstract creamy-brown form.
No obvious mark. Comes with a signed box.

History note: Bought by Shakeshaft from the 'Totally Teabowls' exhibition at Oakwood Gallery (Edwinstowe) no. 368. 27th March 2004
