Bowl.Thinly potted, buff stoneware bowl on ring foot with slightly everted rim and covered in cream slip and transparent glaze.
Slightly rounded sides taper from the everted rim with a deep recessed, flat footrim. The glaze stops in an uneven line above the footrim. The bowl has been stack-fired on five spurs with spurs adhering to the foot, and there are five spur marks inside. Inscription on base in Chinese ink is worn. Stained from burial.
History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
