Bowl with a foliate rim. Hard-paste porcelain painted in underglaze blue. The steep, rounded, flaring sides spring from a slightly tapered foot with an everted foliate rim. The interior well is painted with a bird perched on a stone and, on the sides, stylised foliage within a single-line border with alternating panels of stylised flowers. The exterior consists of six panels of precious objects alternating with six narrow (stick?) panels within a single-line border. A double-line border encircles the foot.
History note: Formerly Sydney Vacher Collection; Henry Scipio Reitlinger (d. 1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
