Virgin and Child
An Italian bronze plaquette of the mid-15th century, depicting the Virgin, crowned, in classical guise, cradling an infant Christ. The entire design is set within an classical architectural frame, composed of two fluted Ionic columns supporting a pediment, within which is the bust of an angel.
