Valentine card
Publisher: Mullord Bros.
Lace-paper mounted on paper springs with details hand-coloured in blue with silver edging. White silk ribbon bows attached at lower left and upper right corners and a chromolithographed scrap of a female hand with lace cuff attached at lower right. The lace-paper is cut into a design of Chinese pagodas and birds and at the centre is an oval flap decorated with a chromolithographed scrap of a winged putti carrying flowers (heavily creased across the centre). The flap opens to reveal a padded, silk sachet (probably originally scented) onto which is printed in red ink: 'Forget me Not'. 'MULLORD 694' is blind-embossed onto the paper at lower centre.
