Valentine card
Publisher: Mansell, Joseph
A silver and green lace-paper frame in an ornate design of ivy leaves entwined with flowers and mounted on paper springs. At the centre of the frame is a large lithograped cut-out of a young woman in profile to the left with long auburn hair pinned with a pink rose and holding a fan. A gilt-edged cartouche with the printed motto: 'Thou art the light of my life' affixed at lower centre. A glazed flower cut-out is affixed at upper centre. Inside the card is a hand-written inscription in black ink: 'Thou art my love / my only love'. MANSELL blind-embossed onto the central panel at lower centre (visible from the verso).
