Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Comic valentine (pan making or mending trade). A hand-coloured woodcut on very thin wove paper, which is folded in half to create an inside page (blank). The hand-colouring is crudely executed. A man wearing a box-shaped hat sitting at a work bench holding a pan in his right hand and a tool in the other. A printed verse below: "With your Iron and Fire and Lush on the sly, / I tell thee thou beast you need not for me try, / For as with dirt and filth you shine, / You ne'er shall be my Valentine." From a series of comic figures.
