Valentine card

Comic valentine (postman). A hand-coloured woodcut on very thin wove paper, which is folded in half to create an inside page (blank). The hand-colouring is crudely executed. A squat male figure wearing a top hat and frock coat with an over-sized head and apparently no neck. He carries a bundle of letters under his right arm and a letter and parcel in his left hand. A printed verse below: "Here you come, with lots of letters, / Written mostly by your betters. / Some from husbands to their spouses, / When they're distant from their houses: / Some from naughty men to misses: / Some from sweethearts, full of "blisses. ...". From a series of comic figures.
