Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Moveable Valentine. A hand-coloured woodcut with a moveable part on white laid paper with a lace-paper border. An image of two women (probably of the lower middle-classes), one of whom has an open book on her lap. The head of this figure is maniuplated to nod forwards and backwards by a paper lever at lower right. A printed verse below: "When two ladies get together / Of a literary turn of mind / Beside the talk of dress, and weather, / They're sharp critics, as we find. ..." The inside of the card is blank.
