Valentine card

Comic Valentine. Tinted lithograph, printed using four colours (red, yellow, blue and black) on a single sheet of card. The card is divided into two halves. On the left side, an illustration of a lady wearing a red jacket, long skirt and large hat (circa. 1890s), printed verse above: "Mary Jane when she goes out, / Dresses up just like a queen"; on the right side, an illustration of a woman as a maid holding a sweeping brush in her right hand, printed verse above: "But when next morn she gets / to work, She looks just like / a ghastly dream." Printed at lower left: TO MY / VALENTINE.
