Description

Watercolour paint, gouache and varnish on white silk panel (stained and foxed) backed with card which is covered with paper. A trimming of lace around the edges with small white beads stitched around the corners and at the centre of each edge. Colourless glass beads at three of the corners. White beads and a colourless glass bead are missing at the lower left corner. The painted panel shows a scene of a sailboat on a lake surrounded by mountains and with a frame of white blossom (added in gouache) in the foreground. A French verse is painted onto the panel below: "Pensez a moi, qui ne pense qu' a vous". Found loose inside front cover of album P.14345.
