My Sweetheart's Gift Valentine card

A hand-coloured lithograph on pale yellow wove paper, cut down from a longer piece and mounted onto brown paper, which is roughly cut and torn on the verso. The lower half, which bears the title and publisher's details, has been cut and re-affixed to fit onto the undermount of brown paper. A lithograph of a young woman wearing a bonnet and holding a basket of fruit aloft in her left hand, a garden rake to her left. The bonnet, arms and face and basket of fruit have been hand-coloured. Printed below: MY SWEETHEART'S GIFT / Published by T. Richardson Derby, April 1st. 1835.
