Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Fan-design valentine. Seven 'arms' of gilded, ornate lace-paper with chromolithographed medallions affixed at the end of each one. The 'arms' are held together by a piece of green cord. Five of the medallions feature flower bouquets and two are scenes of mountainous countryside with figures and buildings (both very un-English and probably German in origin). The first two 'arms' (from left to right) additionally have printed mottos affixed below the medallions: "This is not friendship / but love" and "I'll think of thee / ever".
