Description

A central panel of white silk within a gilded frame of die-cut and embossed cream card. Three embossed scraps affixed to the silk; a girl in pink dress with a pink rose at upper centre, a cottage at the centre and a scroll with a motto, "OFFERING / TO FIDELITY" at lower centre. The panel is mounted with paper springs to what appears to be two pieces of cream card of identical design arranged horizontally with embossed and gilded borders and scalloped edges. A cut-out scroll with gilded edge affixed at lower centre with verse printed in green ink: "Bless the hour, name the day, / Haste to Church without delay". MEEK embossed on lower card at left edge and on upper card at right edge. This joining together of two cards (probably originally a folding valentine) is seen elsewhere. See also P.14349-R-20, P.14349-R-24, P.14349-R-30 (which uses identical Meek cards) and P.14413-R-94.
