Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
White card with curved edges and embossed silver border, at the centre of which is an embossed chromolithographic scrap of children in fancy dress, one firing an arrow from a golden bow, the other blowing a horn and holding the reins of a chariot led by a pair of doves carrying a letter. The chromolithograph is affixed to a backing of net within an oval-shaped border of blue pleated paper decorated with gilded swags. Although located with the loose cards from the exhibition of Glaisher's valentine cards in 1995 ("For ever thine: the nineteenth century Valentine", Charrington Print Room, Fitzwilliam Museum, 1995), this card is not listed in the catalogue and so presumably did not appear in the display.
