To My Beloved Valentine envelope
Publisher: Marcus Ward & Co.
A valentine envelope with a chromolithographed design of flowers within a geometric border in green and silver inks. A verse within an almond-shaped border at the centre: "To My Beloved / Deep, deep the briny sea / Where corals grow and twine, / Swift, swift the swallow's flight / Where water lilies shine; ...". MARCUS WARD & CO. printed at lower right. This card was included in the exhibition of valentine cards, _For ever thine: the nineteenth century valentine_, held in the Charrington Print Room at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1995, no. 61.
