Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A raised valentine with a collage of chromolithographed scraps, fabric flowers, feathers, silk ribbon and silk rope on embossed paper with silvered lace-paper frame (silver has tarnished resulting in 'rainbow' effect) mounted on paper springs. Message and motto printed (in the style of woven embroidery) onto white silk panels to either side of the central collage: TO / ONE I / DEARLY / LOVE; EVER / TRUE. The inside pages are blank. Remnants of white stickers with red border on the verso. This card was included in the exhibition of valentine cards, _For ever thine: the nineteenth century valentine_, held in the Charrington Print Room at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1995, no. 53.
