Valentine card

18mo-size silvered lace-paper (tarnished) with net blind at the centre over a chromolithograph of view of a town across a river, flanked by trees with printed verse below. A chromolithographed scrap of a young girl holding an ermine muff and applied red silk skirt is superimposed against this background, largely obscuring the printed verse. A chromolithographed, embossed scrap with gilt border at lower centre bears the motto: "Sweets to the Sweet".
