Description

A white lace-paper roundel mounted with a smaller sheet of white card cut into the shape of a tasselled curtain with gilt embossed detailing. "WINDSOR" is stamped at lower centre. A silvered and embossed cut-paper design of putti supporting a lattice-work silver rose bowl hung with garlands is mounted with paper springs. A collage of cut-paper and hand-coloured flowers and foliage is arranged above the bowl and glittered fabric leaves affixed to left and right. A printed verse within a cut-paper medallion is affixed onto the lace-paper roundel at lower centre: "True love is like a Gordian knot / Which angel hands have tied; / The heavenly skill its texture wrought / Who shall its folds divide?" There is no back sheet and the lace-paper is adhered directly to the album leaf.
