Valentine card
Publisher: Windsor & Sons
Blue and white embossed lace-paper with gilded detail in a design of baskets of flowers and Cupids with a couple in classical drapery, Cupid/Hymen on their shoulders, standing at the centre beneath a latticed archway. An open book within the paper design at upper centre with gilt detail and gilt printed verse: "My heart / is Thine / only Thine / my Long / loved chosen / Valentine". A coloured cut-paper wreath of flowers with a silver tinsel bow below and a chromolithographed scrap of Cupid with his bow at lower centre with another cut-paper flower garland. The inside pages are blank. WINDSOR embossed at lower left. A Diamond Mark (1842-1883) is stamped at lower right.
