Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Embossed paper with a second layer of silver embossed die-cut paper with a central oval window mounted on paper springs. The paper is cut into a design featuring a couple in 18th-century dress with a dog beside a classical plinth within a landscape, overarching trees to ether side. A gilt-edged shield with printed motto: "I'M FONDLY / THINE / OWN" affixed at lower centre with fabric leaves to either side. Three chromolithographed scraps - two Cupids and a bird - are mounted on paper springs at upper centre. A large embossed chromolithographed flower bouquet is affixed within the oval window and tied with a pink satin bow. A Diamond Mark (1842-1883) stamped at lower right indicates that the maker is almost certainly Windsor & Sons. The inside pages are blank.
