Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Large 4to-size sheet of white lace-paper mounted onto a single sheet of pink and red cameo embossed card cut to the shape of the lace-paper and decorated with chromolithographed scraps with mottoes: "Think of / me" ; "LOVE" and "THE REWARD / OF LOVE IS CONSTANCY / AND TRUTH". An arched gateway of coated embossed card with 'lace' edge mounted at the centre with fretwork doors that open to reveal a chromolithograph of Cupid knocking on a door, holding a flower wreath behind his back and additional chromolithographed flower scraps. The embossed centrepiece with arched fretwork doors was produced as a stand-alone card. See examples P.14411-R-89 and P.14411-R-90, which are mounted onto the following album leaf. P.14413-R-94 is another card which uses the same embossed centrepiece with arched fretwork doors.
