Description

Small single sheet of white coated and embossed card with a 'lace' edge and an arched gateway of coated embossed card with 'lace' edge at the centre with fretwork doors that open to reveal an oval white silk panel with a printed motto in French: "L'amitié véritable / Sème la vie de fleurs". [True friendship sows a life of flowers]. Chromolithographed scraps of forget-me-nots and a gold cut-paper putti blowing a trumpet. The card is mounted on a slightly larger sheet of card covered in blue woven fabric. A version of this card is employed as a centrepiece for a larger valentine mounted onto the previous leaf of the same album, P.14411-R-88 and another similar example, P.14411-R-90, mounted onto the same album leaf.
